Where Do We Go From Here?

With our freedoms assailed by our incoming administration, more than half of Americans are anxious and depressed; even some level-headed Democrats are beginning to question their choice of leaders! The masses are questioning what now?

I’d like to suggest that where we go now is back to our knees in humility and prayer! Return to God.

Jesus came to Earth as a human with the same characteristics as we have. We know from the Bible that there were instances when he actually wept. Surely he must be sobbing uncontrollably now over our aberrant behaviors.

The current American decline in morality accelerated in 1963 when Madelyn Murray O’Hair founded the American Atheist. She went on to consolidate her lawsuit Murray vs Curlett which challenged mandatory prayer and Bible reading in schools with Abington School District vs Shempp which claimed Bible reading in schools was unconstitutional.

The “Supreme Court Case 374 U.S. 203 Abington School District v. Schempp, decided 8–1 in favor of the respondent, Edward Schempp on behalf of his son Ellery Schempp, and declared that school-sponsored Bible reading in public schools in the United States was unconstitutional.”

Students were no longer encouraged to commence their day by seeking guidance from Almighty God. On the contrary, it now became unlawful in schools. Not surprisingly, we also began to see a marked decline in student behaviors.

The Me Generation of the 1960’s instigated this demise of religious and cultural beliefs. It became a kind of Anything Goes philosophy of approving and accepting any and all behaviors. It also birthed the Sexual Revolution.

With the demise of traditional religion interest in Eastern religions became popular. Decline in morality began spiraling downward on the fast track and continues to this day.

The 1970’s ushered in Generation X. By this time mothers were heavily invested in the work force and Latch Key kids with little or no supervision were significantly influenced by the declining morality broadcast on TV and through the media which now lacked any censorship. Roe vs Wade legalized abortion which devalued life, and the Vietnam War era opened the door to an influx of drug use in our country.

The Millennials of the 1980’s became less politically involved and more self-centered and materialistic. Keeping up with the Jones’ so to speak became their focus. They became more liberal considering themselves more open-minded leading to the acceptance of behaviors previously considered aberrant.

Generation Z, the Zoomers of the 90’s, never knew a time without the advantages of technology. However, with the advantages of this advanced knowledge came adverse effects such as sexting as well as children being approached by and interacting with pedophiles on these new devices. Sex trafficking became a serious, diabolical problem.

The 21st Century introduced us to the Alpha Generation. They have variant family structures that stray from the two parent, two sex, traditional families of the past. Same sex parents currently are common. Gender Identity is a now in our vocabulary as they believe choosing gender identity to be a privilege not an assignment at birth. Children as young as six years-old are having sex-change operations approved by their parents.

Is it any wonder our country and world are in turmoil? We have strayed so far from morality and religion. School shootings by students are common as are mass shootings in the other public arenas. We lack respect for life which is a gift from God.

If loss of morality and religion began our decline surely returning to them seems to be a logical conclusion to regain our equilibrium.

God created this world for us to have life and have it abundantly. Satan wants to extinguish it by destroying us, and regretfully we are cooperating with him.

America and the world requires revival and it needs it now more than ever! Without it this country will cease to be a free nation. True freedom is reliance on God and his ways.

Several well-known minsters including Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn and Franklin Graham among others have stepped up and participated with the movement The Return whose mission calls for “Revival-Individual, National, and Global Repentance.”

I urge you to join in and Return to God! He’s waiting for us with open arms.
